How do I download the app?

To get started, open the App Store in iTunes® and type Hewins into the main search bar. You can download the app directly to your iPad® by clicking the Get button. The app is available for no cost, which means you’ll gain immediate mobile access to your portfolios, account performance reports, resources and more with the click of a button.

What information do I need to sign in to the app?

Use your existing Client Portal username and password to log in to the app and access your account. If you’re unsure of your login credentials, please contact your advisor team.

What features are available within the app?

The Client Portal App for iPad® is optimized to give you complete visibility over your total financial picture, at any time. The app builds on the current Client Portal features that you use regularly — including a personalized dashboard, dynamic reports and communication tools — but incorporates a new user interface specifically designed for the iPad®.

With the Client Portal App, you’ll have access to a variety of features that will give you more convenience and flexibility when reviewing your account:

Dashboard. Once you’ve logged in to the app, you can use the interactive portfolio dashboard to view a complete summary of your account information. Simply tap the corresponding chart located under each section to get a more detailed overview of asset allocation, performance and capital flows.

Navigation Menu. Navigate through multiple sections of your account efficiently and easily. Click on the menu icon (located in the top left corner of your account dashboard) to access the main navigation bar and view your account information, reports, resources and more.

Accounts. Filter your account information into three different views. You can also use the search bar at the top of the page to narrow down your information, organize your searches by account or group and display all records.

Documents. Review any document that has been published within the app. Through the Document Vault, you can securely access reports and other materials provided by your advisor, allowing for more streamlined communication.

Reports. Gain instant access to comprehensive reports on asset allocation, holdings, performance and capital flows. Similar to the Accounts page, each report category allows for more targeted searches and customized reporting of account details. You can toggle between your accounts or groups of accounts using the folder icon, located in the top right corner of the app.

Resources. Stay up-to-speed on the latest market news, trends and education on the topics that matter most to you and your financial goals. Through the app, you can check out OneBite, our award-winning company blog, as well as recent investment updates, market summaries and letters from our president and Investment Committee.

How do you help protect my privacy and keep my information secure?

Your privacy and security are our top priority. The Client Portal App uses 128-bit SSL encryption — the same protection banks and financial institutions use — to help ensure that your account information is protected against any unauthorized access. As additional security, your app session will automatically expire after 30 minutes of inactivity.  Notwithstanding the built-in security, we highly recommend that you log out from the Navigation Menu each time you are finished using the app.  Your username and password will be required to re-access your account information each time your session expires or you log out.

What system do I need to ensure the app runs smoothly?

Before using the app, make sure that your iPad® has been updated to the iOS 7.0 software or a later version.

Who should I contact for technical support?
