To watch Erika Young interact with her clients and team members is to see her passion for retirement planning and helping people achieve their financial goals. As Director of Employer Plan Services for Wipfli Hewins Investment Advisors, Erika uses her comprehensive experience as both a plan administrator and a regional director to help businesses assess their employees’ retirement needs and design secure plans that can offer value for the future.
Over the past 12 years, Erika has directed her efforts to developing retirement plans that are both compliant and efficient. Prior to joining Wipfli Hewins, she played a strategic role in establishing and maintaining relationships with retirement plan clients as Regional Director for Advisors Access, the 401(k) service program for BAM Advisor Services. In this role, Erika was personally responsible for supporting the plans of over 140 firms, from onboarding to ongoing client support.
"I’m committed to helping our clients establish a clear vision for their ideal retirement plan so they can retire the way they want to. They work hard to prepare for their financial future, and it’s important to provide them the education they need to understand their reality and start saving early."
- Erika Young
It was here that Erika honed her passion for enhancing the retirement plan experience for both clients and their advisors. In addition to overseeing the plans themselves, she spearheaded the creation of new materials, presentations and reports to provide better customization for clients and optimal efficiency for advisors. She also served as a liaison between record keepers and advisors in an effort to create more integration between the two processes, leading to more efficient service for clients.
Her commitment to strengthening plan processes to meet participants’ needs also derives from her tenure at The Payroll Company, where she held the titles of Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Vice President of Business Development & Administration and, most recently, 401(k) Specialist/Plan Administrator. Through these roles, Erika recognized that the implementation of a successful retirement plan requires clear communication and coordination across all channels, and applies this same perspective to her role at Wipfli Hewins.
In her spare time, Erika can be found playing “chauffeur” for her two children, Mason and Mckenna, or cheering on the sidelines at one of their many sporting events.
